Johanna Dejager, who is known as the “Blonde Bomber” has been in the bodybuilding world for a while, traveling quietly from show to show chasing a dream of earning her IFBB Pro Card. When she did, she took the IFBB by storm, winning her first pro show, the coveted Arnold International. Below, in her own words, is how Johanna came to be one of our favorite bodybuilders.
Height: 5′ 4″
Off-season weight: 135-140 lbs.
Contest weight: 125 lbs.
“Growing up on a dairy farm helped out with a good base for bodybuilding which caught my eye when I was 10 years old. I had seen a profile on a male bodybuilder on TV- the first time I saw anyone that big – I was in awe. From there on, in the back of my mind, I always wanted something like that for myself. I started training on and off until 1993 when I decided to get serious and give bodybuilding try.
Along with the weight training, I maintain my own business in advertising, design and website development. I obtained a degree in Graphic Design in 1990 and started up my own business in 1992.
I noticed the results I was getting from the weight training and how good I felt after a workout. That alone kept me going and to this date it will be always an important part of my lifestyle. I truly believe what you put in is what you get out.”
