Scott Aprile, 28, received the devastating diagnosis of breast cancer last December and underwent surgery in January – only to be told about two weeks later that it was a horrible mixup.
Surgeons removed his entire right breast and three lymph nodes, leaving a 6-inch scar that extends from his underarm to his sternum.
“When I saw the stitches and my mangled chest, I almost passed out for the first time in my life,” he said. “They mutilated my body.”
Aprile was in for an even bigger shock when moments after removing the bandages on Feb. 5, Simon told him he had never had cancer.
Simon said Aprile’s biopsy had been switched with that of a woman who underwent tests the same day, according to the suit.
