You can not read about the Olympics without seeing something about Lindsey Vonn. She is on the cover of Sports Illustrated for the Olympic preview, and it is causing some stir. Labeled as suggestive and sexual, various groups are having a hard time thinking women are being taken seriously. However, I don’t think a picture on the cover of SI is any more ‘defining’ than it is rewarding.
One commentator said, “Regardless of what anyone is saying to the contrary, this photo is highly suggestive — and designed to illicit a response. Kudos to the U.S. Olympic marketing department, Vonn’s publicist, etc., and to SI magazine for selling more magazines to suckers via controversy.”
