With the Kentucky Derby Saturday, it only seems right to share with you a female jockey who holds more than just reigns. Chantal Sutherland, 34-years-old, has been referred to as a “queen of all trades” even when the jack is sleeping. She has just finished second in the rider standings at the Woodbine racetrack in Toronto. She just missed qualifying for a spot in the coveted Kentucky Derby, but she still has a full plate. When she isn’t racing, humoring paparazzi she is working on her Hollywood career and planning a wedding.

The Globe and Mail reported: “After shouldering her way into the riding colony in California against the best riders on the continent, many are calling Sutherland a worthy successor to the best female jockey in history, Julie Krone. They’ve dubbed Sutherland the Queen of Long Shots, winning against all odds.”
