The owners of Bodybuilding.com are now asking for website members and employees to donate a minimum of twenty dollars to their legal fund in a effort to try to protect the nearly 2 million members who could potentially be swept up in the ever expanding federal steroid investigation started last Friday.
The owners ask for the donations to be made in cash, not thru PayPal or personal checks, and assure that 100% of the money received will be used to bolster its now bankrupt defense fund. If sufficient funds are not available soon, the owners may have to represent themselves in court ala the Unibomber, Ted Kaczynski.
Bodybuilding.com CEO Ryan DeLuca made the following statement on a site forum post today:

“As you all know, the FDA recently raided our distribution center looking for steroids. This is a dire time for bodybuilding.com, and the fear of bankruptcy is lurking near.
We implore you to dig deep! Our employees have grown accustomed to a certain standard of living, and it would be a shame for them to have to make adjustments.
We here at bodybuilding.com have given so much to you, dear members. Now it’s time for you to give back!”
