“What Should I Wear?”
One of the interesting and at times provocative rituals that occurs before I shoot is the issue of “wardrobe”. Every time I get ready to do a shoot, the question is asked by the model “What should I wear?”.
My set up is simple and tends to look more cinematic than photographic, I like context.
i don’t want my photographs to look like it was a highly produced photo shoot [which they are not]. They tend to be “low tech, high feel”. I want them to appear almost accidental, voyeuristic and unaware. The images should be “warm to the touch”, as though they were just taken five minutes ago. Because of this, the choice of what a model wears is important to me.
So it occurred to me that i would start to document the ritual of going through the models wardrobe, and share it with you, as it unfolds [no pun intended] in real time.
