Shemuscle model Lauren Powers was born in 1961 in Los Angeles, California. She owned and operated a surfing academy on Maui while in college, and graduated from the University of Hawaii with a business degree. She moved to California and joined the Laguna Beach Fire Department where she started her weight training which lead her into competitive bodybuilding.
