It’s hard to believe, but it was eleven years ago today, that i got my first commission as a photographer by Joe Weider. Muscle & Fitness had seen some of my photos from earlier shoots I had done with Sharon Bruneau and Ericca Kern in motel rooms. So they asked if I would travel to the Arnold Classic in Ohio and shoot the top fitness women, the same way, black & white in their hotel rooms. I photographed some amazing women that weekend, Susan Curry, Lena Johannesen, Minna Lessig, Timea Majorova, Ericca Kern, just to name a few. The photo above is from that weekend. My photo’s from that weekend ran in a large photo feature called “Behind Closed Doors”. I was then offered a contract to shoot for Muscle & Fitness exclusively for the next six years. When Joe sold his company to AMI, my contract was not renewed. Oh well.
