If you have never watched Ice Road Truckers, you have missed some pretty daring folks driving big rigs in some of the worst winter conditions in Alaska. Prior to season three, they were men. Fairly stereotypical men. But Lisa Kelly changed that.
Lisa has always been a bit of a tomboy. She is labeled a “motocross-riding daredevil who is as full of energy as she is cute.” Lisa had to fight the cute part daily to keep her job and be taken seriously. It took her a long time to get into the scene, but she did it and hasn’t looked back.

“I had to work twice as hard,” Lisa said. “I had to pull my weight and everybody else’s and get the job done as fast, or faster. I think I’ve earned where I’m at. They don’t just judge me by the cover, and I can get the job done. I don’t need to fit the stereotype. I don’t have to be a potty mouth, chew tobacco and be 300 pounds to drive a truck.”
