This wouldn’t be so interesting if it weren’t for the fact that Hwang Seul, Seol, Sol and Mil, 21-years-old,? are the second set of quadruplets born in Korea. The first set were born in 1977…doesn’t it make you wonder what is in United States water? Quadruplets aren’t even interesting in the US anymore.
Here is where the Hwang girls story gets interesting. Due to the rarity of the situation, the ? mother, Lee Bong-shim had to go to several hospitals before she found one that would admit her and take on the Cesarean section. Lee Gil-ya, chairwoman of the hospital board of directors where the girls were born made a promise to the girls mother. After remitting the cost of the surgery, she promised to provide? full tuition for? each of the girls? if they were admitted to college. Lee even promised? to hire? four sisters as nurses if they passed the state exam. Twenty-one years later, the girls are starting their first day in the very place where it all began.
“I would like to praise the mother for raising all four identical quadruplets – such a rare thing in the world – with such good care,”? chairwoman Lee Gil-ya? said. “I look forward seeing those four women becoming great nurses like Florence Nightingale.”
