This isn’t just another story about an athletic women who found herself in competition. This is a piece about Theresa Winterhalter, executive assistant for U.S. Army Forces Command G3. This is about a mother of four, a devoted wife and a competitors spirit.
Ya, a lot of women who compete work full-time and are mothers, but Theresa ‘kids’ were 26, 24, 19, 17-years old, when she began. And while I do not have confirmation of an age, you do the math…at the very least she began in her 40’s.
She didn’t enter a competition solely based on looking fit, she entered a womens tri-fitness competition (home of my favorite acronym: WTF)? proving her immaculate fitness.
The WTF competition includes an obstacle course consisting of:
- A 10 foot Wall, Running Grid, Incline/Decline Monkey? Bars, Balance Beam, 15 foot Cargo Net, Shuttle Run, 2 Low Hurdles, Steeple chase jump over water, Sprint, and? Under and Over Bar
After her first competition, Theresa didn’t? stop, and three years later her obstacle time (0:52.06)? is 8th in the WORLD in her division. Theresa commented, “to even make the list is an accomplishment. (However,) the goal is to get better.”
