Suzanne Germano From National Statistic To National Bodybuilder

Suzanne Germano was not always into fitness in fact she is legally blind (not blond) and stopped P.E. class in the 4th grade. She has a congenital condition called Achromatopsia (www.achromatopsia.org). On her website she explains:

“Legally blind means that even with correction your vision is worse than 20/200 which is the biggest E on the eye chart. Due to this condition, I have reduced visual acuity 20/400-20/600, severe light sensitivity and am totally color blind. This has affected my life in many ways; for example, I have never driven, I never did sports or PE throughout my school years and I have a very difficult time recognizing people or being able to see if they are waving to me for example.”  Continue Reading…

Where Did They Go? Jody May NPC Bodybuilder

During FemaleMuscle’s quest to bring you your favorite bodybuilders who seem to have just disappeared, we come to Jody May. Jody, 35-years-old this year, was at the top of the bodybuilding game in the early part of the decade. She had impressive wins ant the Ronnie Colman Classic and was a top national competitor placing 2nd at the 2005 Nationals. After a impressive showing at Nationals and talk of various shows in 2006, this Texan fell off the map. She announced in a interview posted on August 5, 2007 that she was retiring form the sport. SiouxCountry posted a pic of Jody at the At the 2009 NPC Texas Shredder:

As a child she lived a life of severe allergies, the kind that kill you in a moments notice, and frequent illness as a result. At 15-years-old she was inspired by Cory Everson and began a healthy life style that gave her more freedom to live. Prior to her bodybuilding career, she was a successful fitness model. From Pregnancy To Stage Ready

Careen Cadiz may be a stay-at-home mom, but she is not trying to have a stay-at-home body. Before her second child, she stopped working to stay at home with her children. Forty pounds later, she was beginning to lose herself. She began working out in her home before she made the jump into the gym. It is hard to change your life to take a new road with new goals and new ideals. But once you have made your choice and put your mind to it, change is inevitable, regardless of your circumstances, just like Careen.

“I’ve been isolated,” Careen said. “This is about me trying to get back a little of me.”

Careen is preparing for her first competition, NPC Contra Costa Bodybuilding, Figure, Fitness & Bikini Championships in May.

“That’s really far from making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and driving kids to school,” she said. “I am stepping way outside my comfort zone. I don’t want to just compete. I’d like to do well.”

Allison Earnst: From Drive Through Mom to Workout Vixen

“If you had told me a year ago that I would be on Miami Beach in a bikini with a photographer, I would have thought you were out of your mind!”

After her third child and the scale pushing 200 pounds, Allison Earnst put down the fast food and picked up the weights. She lost the first 20 pounds on her own and the next 20 with a trainer. She trained for and ran a marathon. It was a feat that represented her journey back from a life style that had left her tired and miserable; a journey that led to the NPC stage. At 5’7″, Allison dropped from 186 pounds to 133 pounds. Last year, she entered her first show, the NPC Miami Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Competition. She placed 3rd in the Bikini Tall Class.

“You just have to want it. It’s something that no one else can do for you and there is no magic pill. You have to eat clean and you have to move your body. You have to explore and learn discipline from beginning to end. Through this experience, I learned to push myself beyond what was expected and what was comfortable and to really challenge myself. I am important and I am worth putting myself first and living my life so that I can be the absolute best that I can be.”

She turned pro last year at the National Fitness Championships by placing first in her class. Lauren is an orthopedic physical therapist and is making her pro debut at the upcoming New York Pro.

We love Lauren physique, she has amazing bicep peaks. See for yourself in this clip:

Mindi Smith, First Arnold, Fourth Show

Mindi Smith is a blond bombshell to the very heart of the term. She is breath taking, and it is no wonder she, up until the Arnold, had never placed anything other than first. Before training for her IFBB career, she kept an active lifestyle by taking ballet, jazz, tap, gymnastics classes, running cross country, track and field, basketball, and volleyball. She is also no stranger to the stage. If you watch the HBO series Entourage, you may have seen her as a Beverly Hills Pedestrian or perhaps on the Spike TV show, Mananswers. But that’s not all, Mindi has also appeared in commercials for AXE Body Spray (seen below), Power Platform and 6 PakJak Crunch & Cur among other fitness DVD’s.

Mindi entered one local show, won. Entered her first national show and pro qualifier, Nationals, won. Entered her first Pro Show, won. And now, she came in 6th at the 2010 Arnold Classic. I’d say this women is on the fast track to the top of the industry and there are some who would say she is already there. Time will tell. As only her fourth show, I am sure she will develop and blossom even more!
