ShemuscleRaw model Katka Kyptova competed at the 2009 NABBA World Championships this past weekend in Slovakia, doing very well winning her class. The Czech National Champion won Figure Class 2, and went into to the overall, where Ukranian Anzhelika Musalimova went onto to win the overall.

World Champ Anzhelika Musalimova

Anzhelika Musalimova of the Ukraine won the overall figure title at the 2009 NABBA World Championships this past weekend in Slovakia. With over fifteen countries sending teams to compete, the Eastern European nations continued their dominance in the NABBA federations and claimed both then men’s and women’s titles.

With a much harder look, figure competitors perform actual poses and posing routines unlike their North American counterparts.

Looking Back: 2008 NPC Jr Nationals

With the 2009 NPC Jr Nationals coming up this weekend, I thought I would take a look back at least year. Pictured below are the overall winners, photo by Roland Balik.

Sean Allan won the mens overall, the women’s overall bodybuilding winner was Amber Defrancesco with Heather Bayer winning the middleweights and Justine Dohring winning the lightheavies.

2009 Jr Nationals This Weekend

The 2009 Optimum Nutrition NPC Jr. National Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini Championships will be held June 19-20 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont (Chicago area), Illinois.

There are 4 weight classes for the Women’s Bodybuilding, 7 weight classes for Men’s Bodybuilding, 3 height classes for Fitness competitors, 6 height classes for Figure competitors and 6 height classes for Bikini. There will be three Fitness pro cards, four Figure pro cards and 4 Bikini pro cards awarded.

If you are in the area, check it out! Tickets range from $25 – $60

2009 NPC San Diego Masters Champ

Wendy Ida entered her first figure contest this year and ended up winning the masters division of the 2009 NPC San Diego Bodybuilding, Figure and Bikini Championship on March 21, 2009.

“Working out is my cup of coffee in the morning,” she says. “I love how it makes my body smile. But my greatest reward is seeing how I inspire others to step up their game. It’s a wonderful thing to see how the power of fitness can set you free.”

What’s so unusual about this? Wendy just turned 57 in May.

Bubble Butt? Glorious Glutes?

Excuse me for quoting my Mom, but as she taught me “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all“. So, well, I guess being the good daughter I am, I will just post the pic with no commentary….

Actually, after posting the pic, temptation is getting the better of me so I will make a small [but not unkind!] comment. I am unsure if this is a photoshop or not, the detailing on the right hamstring is suspect to me, but the “lump” on the left glute, and another image of her looks very realistic. I really, really, really, really hope it is a photoshop, as if not it is one of the worlds worst butt implants.

On a somewhat related note, there had always been talk and speculation of Brazilian Figure Star and shemuscleraw model Flavia Crisos having butt implants due to her curvaceous glutes. I personally just think she has great genetics, coupled with years with hard work in the gym. Flavia, and her infamous glutes, are pictured below:
