If you’re looking for some fresh motivation to get into the gym, all you have to do is take one look at Ruby Carter-Pikes.

The 64-year-old mother of four and great-grandmother’s rock-hard body is no illusion — those six-pack abs, chiseled legs and buff arms are real. What’s also real are the numerous fitness awards she’s been racking up while competing against women less than half her age.

Did we mention she’s usually dressed in nothing more than a string bikini?

2012 London Olympics: Monica Brant in the masters women’s 400m trials

monica brant

Monica Brant is an icon. She has graced every fitness magazine cover from Ironman to Oxygen, and stood on the stages of the Arnold Classic and the Olympia. She is also well known for her glowing personality, F.E.M. camps, and can-do attitude.

However, when Brant announced that she would participate in track and field some people were surprised, but should not have been. Brant has been a true athlete all of her life, regardless of being on stage or not.

Saturday, June 30, was no different. Brant moved from the Olympia stage to the WBFF, only to cross the finish lines of the 2012 London Olympic trials. She participated in the Master’s Women’s International 400 meter race, and made the announcement on Facebook that she placed third.

“Placed 3rd in the Olympic Trials tonight. I led the pack until the last 90 m. The 400m World Champion and the Outdoor National 400m Champion came in 1st and 2nd. I just need a lil’ more time to condition that last bit! Next up is the Outdoor Nationals in Chicago in July and hoping to go to Worlds in Brazil in October. Right now I am enjoying my Proto Whey shake and taking pictures. It has been an amazing experience and I feel so blessed by God. Thank you to EVERYONE for all of your love and support. I appreciate and love you all! xoxo”

Top 10 Hottest Female Aliens of All-Time

Let me tell you why I love science fiction movies. For a start there are the spacecrafts, the mysterious and diverse planets, and the rich and intelligent plots.  How lucky we are that the writers, directors and producers of these movies seem hell-bent on festooning their outer-space adventures with totally weird, totally hot alien eye candy from start to finish. It might be an odd attraction, but attraction it is. Here we list our ten personal favorites.

10. Neytiri (Avatar)

Yeah it’s weird, but she was oddly hot, and there are probably weirder entries on the list, despite the frankly creepy implications of the ‘sex’ scene. For your very own creepy Avatar themed bedroom fun, why not get your girlfriend to draw some big eyes on a blue plastic bag with a marker pen and wear it over her head. It’s less damaging than being caught watching the DVD with your pants around your ankles and 3D glasses on.

Zoe Bell Stuntwoman

source zoebell.com

Zoë Bell is a stuntwoman from New Zealand.

While you might think you’ve never heard of her, you probably have seen her work, either on popular TV shows such as Xena (as the stunt-double for Lucy Lawless) or in major films including Kill Bill (the stunt-double for Uma Thurman) and Catwoman (as the stunt-double for Sharon Stone).

Zoë doesn’t get the spotlight of the blockbuster actresses that she makes seem so talented but she definitely deserves great admiration and should be an inspiration to women everywhere, especially for all she has achieved in the “boy’s club” of stunt-work in filmmaking.

Emily Zelinka: In her own words

High School

I became less active throughout highschool which in turn made me feel unhappy with my physical features. I believed I was fat. I had started showing signs of an eating disorder. I had been skipping meals and analyzing my body in a mirror up to ten times per day. I was fortunate enough to have great family and friends to show me how unhealthy I was becoming.

I decided to make a positive change in my life. I made a decision to become as healthy as I could and increase my self-esteem. I joined a local gym and became instantly hooked.

A little about me:
I grew up as a very athletic girl, my family owns horses and I did horseback riding, softball, and swimming all prior to entering Jr High. My athleticism grew as I got older and I began playing field hockey and participating in track and field. Eventually my focus fell to track and I spent my high school years running for the track and cross country teams. Although I ran cross country my first year in college I began to feel my competitive running nature wane and I decided to leave the team. I began working out at my college gym and using the weights in effort to gain some muscle, at 5’6″ I weighed between 110 and 115. I didn’t know a lot about what I was doing, but through reading, talking to others, and observing people in the weight room I soon began to pick up on proper form and good technique.

Andrulla Blanchette: 1st Dan Judo Black Belt

andrullaBIG

Andrulla is a 1st Dan black belt in judo, having started out in the sport at age 11. Before that she loved to grapple with the boys in the neighborhood out on the streets near her home. She made the British junior squad and even wanted to try out for the Olympic Games. She decided to start lifting weights only to help her out in her judo, but quickly realized that she was extremely strong for her size. She also developed her body at a prodigious rate.

Her most notable bodyparts are her arms (in 1996, at a body weight of 145 lb, they measured 17 inches) and her traps, which she says developed large and early from a former training partner and boyfriend who had her lifting heavy right from the start. At a height of 5’3″, her contest body weight has typically been around 135 lb.
