News — By Patricia on April 30, 2009 at 9:03 amMiss California Carrie Prejean told NBC’s “Today” show that she is headed to Washington to work with the National Organization for Marriage to “protect traditional marriages.” At the recent Miss USA pageant she stated that gay Americans should not have equal marriage rights under the law in reply to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton’s question about legalizing same-sex marriage.
A statement from the Miss California pageant said her work with the National Organization for Marriage “goes beyond the rights to voice her beliefs and instead reveals her opportunistic agenda.“It added that pageant executives were “deeply saddened” Prejean had “forgotten her platform of the Special Olympics (and) her commitment to all Californians.”
An unusual darling for the religious zealots – a woman who shuns modesty to prance around in a bikini onstage, and who had the Miss California organizers pay for her breast implants. Normally the zealots who be ready with the branding iron to scorch a scarlet letter on her forehead.
Carrie is dating stoner swimmer Michael Phelps, and I absolutely hope they are not fornicating as that would be a sin.
