Linda Uttley, 43-years-old, was an athlete and a fighter on an off the pitch. She battled a rare form of cancer for two years until she passed on and is now resting in peace. Her warmth and kindness was said to be infectious.

Her sister Gloria said: “Linda was enormous fun and I miss her more than I can say. She was our baby sister and it’s awful that she’s been taken away from us like this. She always had a smile for everyone and spread warmth everywhere she went. It’s a tough time for the family but we’re taking consolation from the fact that Linda had great friends and lived a life that she loved.”

Linda’s rugby career lasted on the pitch from 1989-2000, and includes multiple awards and a trip to the World Cup. Afterwords, she stayed active with the rugby community until the end. She was much loved and will be missed.
