Victor Konovalov was the first member of the IFBB Pro Bodybuilder wheelchair division and was also the first wheelchair bodybuilder to received a endorsement from a supplement company, Weider. He became paralyzed at the age of 20 in a motorcross accident. While practicing one day, Victor was attempting a double jump and landed on his feet shattering vertebrae in his spine.

Victor has won a record five NPC National Wheelchair Overall Championship titles [1996, 1997, 1998, 2004, 2007], has Masters Degree in Physical Education, has guest posed at the Olympia and hosts ‘DMI Beyond Sports’ the first ever fitness show hosted by a paraplegic.

Obviously, he is a very inspirational man. He is pictured below with Lori Braun at an expo:

Does he do marathons? Those guys have huge arms (not surprisingly)

I remember seeing Edith Hunkler http://www.edith.ch/ at the 1999 Boston Marathon Awards. She was called up to get her fifth place prize and the room was quiet as she wheeled up there and then she swung the chair around and everyone got a look at her and you could hear the rumble of talking take over the room as they all saw how attractive she was. People didn’t really care about the wheelchair results until she came along.

Wow great link thanks! I had never heard of her before, googled her some and bookmarked and don’t be surprised when you see a blog post on her soon lol. I love inspirational athletes.

There’s a female wheelchair bodybuilder, physique wise she really isn’t that muscular needs some more gym time – but she also is super facially pretty.

I don’t think Victor ever did marathons? Not sure, but I have always known him to be a hardcore bodybuilding guy.
