The thing is, we can look past not being able to locate Iraq on a map, or believing every word posted on Wikipedia is fact. What we can’t comprehend is how people think trying to get on a packed train first, before others have exited, is a good idea. It’s fucking mind-blowing.We just don’t get it, we really don’t. It’s almost as if these humans aren’t human at all, but in fact brainless salmon people, desperately trying to swim upstream any chance they get.
This has befuddled me since I moved to this town. These “salmon people” are a good metaphor for the type of people who think only of themselves, like the man who slides into the subway seat before a mother with child can sit down, or line-cutters in any number of situations.
As their web site says, these people present a socially responsible reason to punch someone in the face.
Anyone who follows news slightly knows that the US is not too doing well economically, and is aware of all the bailouts.
Now it seems the adult industry is following the leads of the banks and auto industry and requesting one as well as they have also been hurt by the economic downturn, with Hustler mag reports sales down 25%. CNN reports that Hustler Magazine publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis will appeal to the U.S. government for a $5 billion bailout of the adult industry.

The take here is that everyone and their mother want to be bailed out from the banks to the big three,” said Owen Moogan, spokesman for Larry Flynt. “The porn industry has been hurt by the downturn like everyone else and they are going to ask for the $5 billion. Is it the most serious thing in the world? Is it going to make the lives of Americans better if it happens? It is not for them to determine.”
Francis said in a statement that “the US government should actively support the adult industry’s survival and growth, just as it feels the need to support any other industry cherished by the American people.”

Kim Chivesky turned pro in 1992 by winning the overall at the IFBB North American Championships, and went on to win four consecutive Olympia titles from 1996 - 1999. Kim was credited with, or blamed for depending on who you ask, ushering in the era of a much more ripped female bodybuilder.
She then made a switch to fitness and competed twice placing 6th at the 2001 Arnold and 4th at the 2002 Southwest Fitness Pro. Now retired from competing, she keeps a fairly low profile and is a mother, show promoter and married to contest prep guru Chad Nicholls.

14-year-old Zoe Smith is being reported as the “strongest girl in Britain” and was named one of the British Olympic Association’s Athletes of the Year for 2008.
Zoe, who is 5′2″ and weighs 125lbs, has lifted over 200lbs in the ‘clean and jerk’ event. She represented Britain at the Commonwealth Youth Games in India where she won a gold medal and set a world record for her age and bodyweight by lifting a total of 350lbs in three events. That was one of over 90 records Zoe has set. She now holds every British record, bar one, in the 53kg weight category from senior down to under 14 level. She is being tipped as one of the stars of the 2012 Olympics which will be held in backyard of London, England.
Today in 1994, figure skater Nancy Kerrigan was clubbed in the knee by Shane Stant at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Detroit. Figure skating fans (and curious onlookers) around the world were shocked, and went all the way to appalled when it was revealed that the attack may have been planned by fellow skater Tonya Harding.
Kerrigan was unable to compete in the Olympic trials due to her injury, but was granted a spot on the Olympic team. She went on to win the silver medal at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer and ride on a float in a Disney parade, during which her microphone picked up some rather snarky comments that were assumed to be about the parade. Kerrigan claimed she was complaining not about the parade but about wearing her medal during the parade, which she said made her feel silly.
Harding, on the other hand, was banned from participating in United States Figure Skating Association events for the rest of her life and stripped of her title. She pleaded guilty to hindering the investigation of the attack, which also involved her ex-husband and one of his friends, but continues to maintain her innocence in regards to having planned it.
