Bodybuilder Craig Titus is seeking to knock off about four years from his prison sentence for murder.
If he can’t get that, he’s asking the court to throw out his guilty plea and allow him to go to trial. His attorney, Marc Saggese, claims District Judge Jackie Glass said that Titus would be eligible for parole after serving 17 years in prison for killing his personal assistant, Melissa James.
Instead, Glass sentenced Titus to 21 years in prison during a sentencing hearing on Aug. 22. “In defendant Titus’ mind, the fact that he would receive seventeen years was written in stone,” Saggese wrote in a court document. “Judge Glass had made that assurance to Counsel as a matter of fact.”
Dexter Jackson added another win to his column in Romania at the last IFBB pro show of the year for males, and also broke the all time record for prize money wins in a single year for a pro bodybuilder.
A video to add to my prior post about the NABBA Universe the a few days ago. In addition to often wearing thongs onstage, many figure competitors outside of North America also do a posing routine. First up on this video is Rachel Grice of the UK who won her class.
Shemuscle’s photo of the week features an image taken from the latest set of photos that were just added to shemuscle’s 10,000+ collection this week. Any true muscle fan should know who this is, so I’ll leave it to you to discern but if you are having a mental blank, you can cheat and find out on the Photo of the Week section.
Pro bodybuilder Heather Ambrust finished a disapointing 14th in the Olympia and alluded to quiting bodybuilding on an online video interview, and said she “sucked”. Of course in my plebian mind, even making the Olympia is a great accomplishment, but her feelings are understandable considering Heather came 5th in the 2007 Olympia - a decision which was met with a chorus of “boos” from the audience no less with many feeling she should have placed higher.
She posted recently on her blog about how the loss of her sponsorship affected her and that “I am going to get myself and everything else back on track and I will be back SOON. I wont go out like this”

The following Bench Press errors should be avoided at all costs:
Pressing to Your Face.
Avoid lowering the bar to your face, and press in a straight line. Fix a point at the ceiling where you want the bar to go.
Elbows.
Elbow placement too high is bad for your shoulders, and too low is not optimal. Put your elbows between perpendicular to & parallel with your torso.
Shoulders Forward.
Don’t let your shoulders roll forward as it is a potential way to get shoulder injuries. Keep your chest up and shoulder-blades back and down
