Taiwan’s Hsu Shu-ching (許淑淨) won two golds and one silver medal in the women’s under-53kg division at the World Weightlifting Championships in Houston, Texas, on Sunday.

Hsu won gold in the clean and jerk with a lift of 125kg, and silver in the snatch with a lift of 96kg. China’s Chen Xiaoting (陳曉婷) won the snatch with a lift of 101kg.

Hsu had a combined lift of 221kg, which earned her a second gold medal. It is her first gold in the combined lift at the championships and her third in international competitions.

At the 17th Asian Games in South Korea last year, Hsu set a world record in the women’s 53kg weightlifting category with a combined lift of 233kg.

This year’s World Weightlifting Championship, which is scheduled to run through Saturday, is a qualifying competition for next year’s Rio Olympics in Brazil.
