Anastasia Novikova of Belarus finished 4th in her weight category of under 58kg at the 2015 IWF World Weightlifting Championship in Houston, the United States, BelTA informs.
Olympic bronze medalist in Beijing and 2011 world champion Anastasia Novikova lifted a total of 228kg (102 in the snatch and 126kg in the jerk) to finish one step from the podium. The gold in the event was claimed by Boyanka Minkova Kostova of Azerbaijan with the total of 252kg (112kg+140kg). Silver went to China, while Taiwan clinched bronze.
20-year-old Artyom Shagov of Belarus finished tenth in the men’s 69kg event lifting a total of 322kg (142kg+180kg).
On 24 November Houston will host the men’s final in the 77kg weight category. Belarus will be represented by Ivan Klim.
