Fannie Barrios Dies at age 41

Fannie Barrios passed away on August 7th, 2005 around 2am in the morning after spending the previous day at the NPC Southern States in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where she was assisting competitors backstage. Her husband, Alex, was competing that evening.
Cause of death is unknown at the moment.
We have collected all the photos of Fannie from the past several years and made this gallery. Fannie was a sweet person and a great bodybuilder.

I extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends, and many fans of this great champion. I never had the pleasure of meeting her, but I have seen her in many publications where she proved why she had so much success during her career.

What a terrible loss for women’s physique arts the passing of Fanny Barrios is and what is especially disturbing is the fact she had her stroke so early in life…
She had an awesome physique, and one of the few women in the sport who didn’t fall under the pressuer to conform. R.I.P. Baby

well we knew fannie well. and all should know this had nothing to do with steriod abuse..she didnot have a stroke like you all think
she was poisened according to autopsy results..her heart and brain were perfect..we all will miss her..but you need to know the truth..
Who ‘poisoned’ her or is this language in her autopsy referring to the supplements she ingested?
She looked juiced and even in the picture here does not look healthy.

BB was once a real sport.
Then steroids entered the game and other products and women gained muscle like men and lost feminine features.
Now many FBB have incredible muscles but do not look healthy, they live unhealthy lifestyles (women on this board are photographed smoking) and they become side-show freaks to win competitions.
It is sad. I wish this popular website would promote health and healthy choices and totally aschew steroids and other unhealthy habits (including smoking).

Wake the fuck up! Steroids and the other shit many of you use are poison. They kill you.
You look like a freak and then you die and it isn’t pretty.
You can only pretend at being a female. Sure buy some boobs and paint on make up to cover your tough, leathery skin.
The junk is a killer. The sport is full of freaks that are not really women.
And this person’s death is an example of where you are going. Wake Up!!!!
It is sad when anyone dies, but no female can get that big without steroids. It is impossible. When an IFBB denies it & goes into a roid rage then they are merely showing off one of the many symptoms. Don’t get wrong, training is a big part of it, but training alone just wont get a female that big – dont take my word for it do the research and you’ll see. RIP Fannie.
It’s very sad. All my favorite bb are from Venezuela, Yaxeni, Betty, and Fannie. Her body was awesome and she was a nice human being. Steroids or not? It does not matter to me. The great human being lost that’s what hurts.

On behalf of all those who never knew her, but saw her star shine so bright, our condolences to all those who did know her.
It is a shock, and makes you realise how we take for granted these amazing individuals. They sacrifice so much in their determination to succeed. Their passing is such a waste. She will be greatly missed.
