2009 Jr Nats Champ: Suzanne Germano
Contest Coverage, News — By Patricia on June 22, 2009 at 7:41 amWinning a contest is always an impressive thing, with some more so then others. Sorry to be all boring and use a cliche but it seems to apply; “Success is not always determined by where you are, but what you had to overcome to get there”.
The 2009 Jr NPC Jr Nationals champion defines this, California born Suzanne Germano won the bodybuilding overall at the National level show this past weekend. She formerly weighed 185lbs and lost over 60lbs.
She started lifting weights in 1995, and initially competed as a figure competitor, making the bodybuilding switch recently.
A former skier, she represented the USA at the World Winter Games for the Disabled in Innsbruck Austria in 1984. Yup – the disabled games….Suzanne is also legally blind.
Competitors with inspirational stories like this, you have to really admire. Best of luck to Suzanne in her future competitions.

She’s 45, so I guess the “Junior” part of Junior Nationals does not imply an age limit.
That’s quite the transformation she’s been though. Anything is possible.
Yup, she’s really done well. A great story…
