BMI and Fat Tax…Taxing Bodybuilders?

fit_fat_tax

North Carolina will soon become the first state to tax the fat. Lawmakers plan on enacting a bill that would penalize overweight individuals based upon their BMI (body mass index).

The problem with this approach is that North Carolina will not only be penalizing the obese…it will also be penalizing bodybuilders!

An off-season, relatively lean male natural bodybuilder who stands 5’10″, and weighs 210 pounds, would have a BMI around 30. Despite the fact that this bodybuilder isn’t over 12% bodyfat, they would be classified as obese by the state of North Carolina, and slapped with a tax.

Here are the BMI categories:

18.5 or less – underweight
18.5 to 24.9 — normal
25 to 29.9 — overweight
30 or above — obese

Calculate your BMI.

    Next tax:
If you are a mentally challenged/handicapped individual, we will tax YOU more.

Because you cost our state more money to provide handicapped access to facilities and state owned transportation vehicles.

Somebodys gotta pay for it so why not YOU!

Thanks and have a nice day.

    -Big Brother.
