Katie Germain, high school freshman, just took a fourth-place finish at the Body Bar Women’s Nationals in the 15-17 years, 132 lbs. division. She didn’t finish where she had hoped, but she is one to watch in the coming years!

“Some of the best high school and college women wrestlers in the country were competing at this event,” Katie’s coach said. “It was Katie’s first real test in wrestling at this level so a fourth place finish is a start.”

“I was pretty upset when I didn’t win my bronze medal match,” Katie added. “I’ve just got to continue to learn more freestyle techniques and then I will be even more competitive.”

Katie has had 27 matches in one judo and four wrestling tournaments since her high school varsity season ended in Feb.

Katie is planning more tournaments and a couple of camps this summer, she is preparing for some wrestling and judo national events in July. She has a lot of years a head of her and with her will and drive and youth, it is just a matter of time before she is always on the top podium.
