Gia Allemand Wins Bikini Short
Arnold 2009 — By Patricia on March 6, 2009 at 2:37 pmOur photo galleries are still going up, but I had to pick through to find photos of Gia Allemand.
Gia won the 2009 Arnold Amateur Bikini Short Class, a decision which has been met with some level of disagreement by many.
And an edit for the commentators!
Here is a photo of another entrant in the bikini class, if you look to the right of her the winner is behind. Physique sports are always subjective, but in my opinion [and others from what I hear] the physique displayed by this entrant seems more ideal. She has a great fit look, and obviously has put many gym hours in.

Does the “short” class just mean that the competitors are short? what’s the controversy? were there other better short women?
Yes Patricia what is the controversy? She looks good to me!
@Joseph – yup, classes are just divided by height. They normally smoosh us under a doctors scale thing lol.
There is plenty of controversy, I heard from many the crowd even booed. I don’t like to ever denigrate a competitor and I am sure she’s a great person and is very beautiful, so I kind of don’t want to say more…but there are verbal and e-murmurings many places about this decision.
I am going to fish through the galleries, and posy up some more from the class so you can see the other ladies.
I edited and added another pic of another entrant. I hope I am not seeming rude here, I hate to denigrate competitors, as the judges make decisions not them.
the winner looked good,but not as good as the lady in the other picture.i can see why there is some controversy.
there shouldnt be any controversy it was a bikini contest who better to win the a bikini model straight out of sports illustrated google gia allemand check out sportsimproper.com she is one of the top bikini models in that field. she isnt supposed to have muscle she isnt competing in figure or fitness.
@Carl – that’s exactly what I thought!

I notice “Carl” is posting on a few blogs saying she is a sports illustrated model but there seems to be no online confirmation of this, which is strange as SI always puts their models on their site :-)
Hello everyone… I am just about 22 years old, I stand at 4′9 feet short and weigh in at 95lbs… I love working out and seeing and feeling my body change and get stronger…. I would love to be a female fitness competitor, but I do not know much about… Just that the woman are so strong and beautiful and flexiable, I love it, its so amazing and inspiring!!! Am I too old for the sport? Or too short? How do I get into it, etc? Any and all help and advice would be a great help!!!!
Thanks in advance….
